Catherine is HOME!

In case you haven't heard Catherine is home! She did fly to Philly on Monday morning and when the 32 Madagascar volunteers got there for the first staging, they were tod they were going home.! The unrest in Mdagascar is to volatile for them to send anyone into Madagascar. Thank goodness they found this out before they got on the plane Tuesday! The Peace Corps has made these volunteers a priorty, with the hopes of placing them quickly . We found out Tuesday that Catherine could go somewhere in June or August. She had to choose. Since she has no car or job, she chose June. We found out yesterday that she will be going to Cameroon. Her roommate for the one night in Philly is also going there. Catherine really liked her and was very pleased with the young people she met, so the trip was not in vain. And she got to go out that night with a good friend, Sean, who was at the Academy with Brad.

Hope you haven't mailed anything to Madagascar! Catherine will be here with us in Greer. It will be virtually impossible to get a job for such a short time. She is going to volunteer full time at United Ministries in Greenville. She will drive my car and live with us. Her phone still works.

Thanks for all your prayers and thougts. Keep them going and hope this invitation works out without any hitches!
Sallie

Here is Catherine's address for the next 3 months. ( as far as we know)

Catherine Hipp, PCV
Bureau Du Corps de la Paix
B.P. 12091
Poste Zoom Ankorondrano
Antananarivo 101
Madagascar

When I asked at the Post Office, they said it was $0.94 to mail a letter to Madagascar. We have been told it will take two to three weeks and that you should number your letters.

Thanks in advance for sending letters and cards to my daughter!

Catherine is leaving!

Catherine is leaving from GSP at 11:00 on Monday the 9th. She is so ready after all this waiting. I will keep you posted and hopefully add pictures as her adventure unfolds!

Gabbi does not get to go!
